Mital Patel. (mitaln@pegasus.rutgers.edu)
Biography: I am currently a junior in Rutgers University studying chemistry as a major and biology as a minor. The type of research being done in the laboratory is very interesting and exciting. I started to work in the lab in the Summer of 2001 and will continue to work until I graduate from Rutgers University. As an undergraduate intern, I have been able to learn about the basic research techniques used in the field of neuroscience. I work with the post-doctorals from the rat lab. I have learned to participate in the experimental design, surgery of the animals, data collection and analysis with the ongoing research projects about the hippocampal and entorhinal cortex lesions. From this internship experience, I am expecting to learn as much as I can about how the brain is connected to memory and learning. After completing my undergraduate studies, I plan to study in the field of medicine |
