My main research interests are in the neural bases of learning and memory. I am particularly interested in understanding how the brain changes to support learning and memory (both in adults and during development), the role of neuromodulation in modifying those changes, and how different brain regions (such as the hippocampus and the basal ganglia) interact to support different kinds of learning and memory function. My dissertation studies focus on learning and memory deficits in patients with Parkinson's disease, and how these deficits are affected by dopaminergic medication. In my research, I aim to adopt an integrative approach that draws on neurophysiological and neurochemical studies to make predictions about cognitive function.
