RESEARCH OVERVIEW
  • Computational Neuroscience. Neural network models of the role of various brain regions in learning and memory, especially the hippocampus, basal forebrain and associated areas.

  • Experimental Neuropsychology of Learning and Memory. Determining what specific kinds of memory are impaired (and spared) in individuals with memory impairments due to injury or disease. A particular focus is development of simple behavioral assessments to diagnose whether specific brain regions have been affected by injury or disease, and development of simple tests to predict risk for developing Alzheimer's disease in nondemented elderly individuals.
