About the Program The Rutgers University -
Center for Molecular & Behavioral Neuroscience
has an on-going program of Undergraduate Research Internships in the Behavioral and Neural Sciences. This is an opportunity for qualified undergraduates to gain valuable experience with the practice of science and obtain "hands-on" research training. Students in this program will receive three academic course credits from
Psychology, Biology, Computer Science, Nursing, Engineering/Computer-Science, or Honors Programs. Quality research experiences are integral components in preparation for and in applications to graduate schools or to medical schools. The internship offers a unique opportunity to apply undergraduate academic coursework to practical scientific usage. The Center for Molecular & Behavioral Neuroscience is a state of the art interdisciplinary research center on the Rutgers-Newark campus. Its goal is to better our understanding of the brain: How it works and how it gives rise to intelligent behavior. Some research scientists at the Center study the biological bases of human intelligence and thinking, others investigate the detailed biological mechanisms of the brain and how these affect behavior.
